The shape of the myth.
Folk stems from a reflection on myth by Claude Lévi-Strauss: ancient tales from around the world have a series of elements in common, as if there was a continuity, a formal basic structure in popular culture, regardless of latitude and longitude. In the Folk project, starting from a universal and iconic formal structure, we distinguished the elements of the composition one from the other by choosing the most suitable material for each function.

The aluminum frame represents the link and the crucial transition from traditional structure to novelty. It is the load-bearing element of the chair and it allows rapid mechanical assembly of legs and different types of seats. The plywood seat is an object that conveys a sense of practicality and cleanliness. The padded seat brings refinance to a humble archetype. Finally, the Vienna straw seat gives to the object lightness, transparency and a subtle familiarity.
Which seat are you on?
Folk music revival, especially in the 40s, 50s and 60s, drawing from the sounds of the past, turned out to be an instrument to raise civil demands, to claim the poetic beauty of ideals of justice and brotherhood, to promote a culture of peace through a deliberately simple language, acoustic instruments, minimal stories. We find an affinity between this choice of simplicity and our formal research: they share the same need to go back to popular semantics in order to speak to everyone, without any distinction.
